Summer Vacation Day 18

This morning we all went to Dawson. All three boys really love it. Preston taught our class and then we had nursery duty. We only had three kids in our class today and joined with another class in the toddler playroom for a while.

Thanks to the rain we spent a wonderful afternoon inside. Nathan and Owen rested with a nice long nap. Preston headed to Lowe's and the grocery store. (yes, he is an awesome husband). While he was gone Logan and I played Candyland and trains. While we were playing trains we let Pburdell in and he took a nap on Logan's bed. It was so nice to just play.

Tonight at dinner Nathan fed himself his dessert. He is getting better and better at it.

Our week ahead will be busy with appointments. I am excited about this week because we have lots of big stuff.

Tomorrow morning at speech therapy we will begin the conversation of Nathan's second cochlear implant. We had planned to wait a while but his ENT felt he would do better if he had them both within 12 months. Preston and I talked and prayed about it and decided we would move ahead. It is still a several month process because the team at the HEAR Center has to review and vote to approve him. We will then need to get on the surgery schedule for the ENT and that usually takes months. I'll be sure to update the blog as things progress and develop.

Wednesday we will meet with our PT from CRS, Children's Rehabilitative Services of Alabama. This is the group through who we order our equipment. I believe we will be ordering a new activity chair for Owen. I am really excited to order this new chair because he has outgrown his old chair. Owen needs a lot of support to be able to relax and play. Also on Wednesday Kristi the boys regular PT will be bringing Nathan a walker!!! This is a huge step and I can't wait to begin working with him in it. We have a few other therapy and doctor visits but they are all routine.
