a mustard seed

I am working through the Beth Moore Believing God Bible Study. Though I have only finished week one, I feel God moving in new and deep ways. In Mathew 17:20, Jesus says "if you have faith as small as a mustard seed you can say to the mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move, nothing will be impossible for you." I began to think about my mountain and thought it must be Nathan's ears. No one can fix those but God. As I got a little deeper into my study (day 3), I began my time of prayer and I felt God revealing to me that my mountain is not Nathan's ears; it is the complete healing of both Nathan and Owen by summer of 2012. As I opened my book to begin the study, these are the first four scriptures God had waiting on me: Matthew 9:20-22, Matthew 9:27-30, Mathew 15:28 and Matthew 17:14-21. I really felt right then this was God confirming what I felt He was leading in my prayer time.

I have this great confirmation from God that He will do something huge in my life... I just need the faith to believe Him, faith as small as a mustard seed. I have begun praying Luke 17:5, "Lord increase my faith." Faith in God is a gift from God (Ephesians 2:8). Only as we draw closer to God will our faith in Him increase. Through faith we can approach God with freedom and confidence (Ephesians 3:12). Faith is not "I think it therefore I can persuade God into blessing me." Faith is the experience of the lordship of Christ.

I am sharing my prayer life so personally with you for a few reasons. One, I would like for you to pray for me that I would be faithful to God's call on this journey and to trust in God's sovereignty. (This is a journey with lots of hard work on the family, as well as all the boys' therapists and doctors). Two, that you would pray for the COMPLETE healing of Nathan and Owen. Three, so you can be here every part of the way seeing the glory of God and His mighty works. If you desire to become a prayer warrior on this journey, shoot me an e-mail and let me know. I would like to be able to tell the boys when they are older who came alongside us in praying for their miraculous healing... once again. God is doing great and exciting things!

Half Marathon

On Sunday, Feb 13th, Sarah Cook and I ran our first half-marathon. We had a lot of fun running together. We trained together for quite a while and it was so fun to actually accomplish what we had been working toward. There were 7123 runners at the Mercedes Marathon. I enjoyed running in such a big crowd. Preston and Logan showed up several times along the route to cheer us on. It was so nice to see and hear them cheering for us so many places along the course. Preston's cousin, Michele, watched Nathan and Owen at our house. We really appreciated Michele watching the boys, so Preston and Logan could come to the race. Preston's Dad worked at the KBR water stop, so I was able to see him during the race too.
Logan and Gracie are sporting their new shirts Sarah and I bought them on Saturday. They said, "My Mom can run faster than your Mom".

Science Experiments

Logan loves science. Several weeks ago I ordered some science experiment kits. When Nathan and Owen are napping we get the kits out and work on different projects. This one was making cup cakes with different ingredients. Logan was able to see how some rise and some do not. The difference was added baking soda and vinegar. He enjoyed baking them and seeing the difference but not the taste. We have also done some other fun experiments with changing water colors and making crystals. We still have lots of experiments in our kits we have not done yet.

Snow in Alabama

For Alabama, we have had a lot of snow this winter. This was the perfect snow. It looked beautiful and did not create bad driving conditions. Logan and I had some fun playing out in the back yard before school. We only stayed out a little while because it was so cold. Nathan and Owen stayed inside, where it was warm. They were looking out the windows in the play room watching us.Our houseOur street

Trip to McWane Science Center

Last week Logan, Owen, Nathan and I all headed to McWane Science Center. Logan had been asking to go for a while. Nathan and Owen enjoyed their trip. We are hoping to make it a regular outing.

Logan and I did the virtual reality soccer game. We actually did quite well and got on the champion board. We had a lot of fun together.

Logan loves making different pictures with his face, hands, and lots of different shapes.
All three boys enjoyed watching the balls. I will admit that I too think it is pretty cool.

Valentine Party

Yesterday, Valentine's Day, was Logan's class Valentine Party. We did a special snack for the class party. I made heart shaped sugar cookies with pink frosting, m&ms (eyes) and twizzler pull -n-peel (hair and mouth). Each kid decorated their own cookie. They all seamed to have a good time. After they were done with their cookies they all passed out their valentine cards.

I am back

Our internet is finally up and running at our new house. I will be doing lots of blogging soon.
