Logan is getting spoiled by our friends!!!

Yesterday Logan spent some time with my friend Sarah, her daughter Gracie (one of Logan's best friends) and her younger brother James. They went to McDonalds, then bowling, the off to the dollar store to get some fun toys and then ended their outing with ice cream. Needless to say, Logan is not lacking for much being in Alabama right now.

Saturday fun with the Comer Family

On Saturday the Comer family picked up Logan and I for an afternoon of fun. We went to a nursery and got pumpkins for all the kids and a few big ones for Marc to carve. We then headed to Jason's Deli (Logan's favorite place to eat). After we were full on yummy food we headed over to the Comers where the kids painted their pumpkins. We had a great time. Thanks Kristen, Marc, Sarah and James for a fun afternoon. Sorry these pictures are not in order. I am having a really hard time just getting things posted. Here is Logan painting his pumpkin. Janelle and Logan return to Birmingham

On Tuesday it became evident to Preton and I that Logan and I needed to get back to the US more quickly than we expected. So, we had our flights changed and flew out Wednesday afternoon. It was hard to leave so quickly and to say goodbye to Preston and all our new friends. We are now looking forward to our return.

Logan and I got to Birmingham about 2:00 a.m. and since his clock was completely reversed he stayed up all night, just happy and full of energy. He is excited to be back with his Grandparents and will begin seeing friends and more family today. Logan did VERY well on the airplane ride. Thanks to the friends that sent him with books, pictures and other fun surprises.

I had a doctor's appointment Thursday afternoon. Everything with the babies is looking great. I was able to get another ultra sound and it was really exciting to see them so active. One of them had the hichups and another was trying to suck its thumb. I have been put on semi bedrest having to lay down at least two additional hours in the morning and two in the afternoon. My doctor says there is no doubt I will be on complete bedrest by Thanksgiving. I also have to bump up my calorie intake to 3500 cal per day. The thought is the more weight I can give to the babies now, the better they will be when they are born. They will be born anytime between 26 - 34 weeks, hoping for closer to the later date.
Any friends and family that would like to hang out with us, we would love to see.

Trash Mountain

This Saturday we spent the afternoon with several of our friends at Trash Mountain. The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed time having a picnic and playing.

Logan and Preston had a great time playing football with Mr. Jason, Elijah and Jo Jo. This is one of the few places in the city where we can play on the grass.

Logan is playing on the rocks with his friends, Elijah and Jo Jo.

Here some of the leaves just fall of the trees and others turn beautiful colors. We thought these were very beautiful.

There is a nice lake here that Logan loves to look at. He also enjoys playing on the rocks near by.

TIS International Day

Today was international day at Preston's school. The highlighted country this year was Austrailia. Parents made delicious cuisine from their home country. There was Korean, Chinese, British, American, Singaporean and of course Austrailian. There was also a show representing performances from many different countries. This is a picture of the Sydney Opera House Preston and a few other members of the art department made. It was 30ft by 12 ft.

International Day is very busy. Hundreds of people join in the festivities.

After eating everyone gathers outside for the international show.Logan loves playing on the playground at Preston's school. He spent a lot of time there this afternoon too. This is Logan's good friend, Marta.Everyone dressed in clothing representative of their home country. We went as American Football fans (specifically Georgia Tech).

The Moon

Yesterday, the moon was the closest to earth it will be all year. Here is a picture of the moon right outside our apartment.

Yang Liu Qing

Yesterday was Mid-Autumn Festival. We were able to celebrate with our friends Holly and Derrek by going to Yang Liu Qing, a village very near Tianjin. We went on a tour of a very large house, 10,000 meters sq. We really enjoyed seeing the house and seeing how people lived in China about 100 years ago. It also had a very beautiful garden. For some reason I did not get any pictures of it The house had it's own theater where we were able to enjoy some Beijing Opera. Logan loved it and keeps wanting to see the video over and over.

Logan also enjoyed riding the lion statues and pretending he was a lion himself.

Friday Outing

We thought it would be fun to spend this beautiful Saturday outside. We decided to take about a 45 minute walk toward E-Mart (a large shopping complex with restaurants, groceries, appliances, etc). When we got to E-Mart we saw some fun carnival type games and rides set up for National Holiday / Mid-Autumn Festival. Logan quickly found a huge bounce structure. The nice thing is once you pay, there is no time limit. We let him jump for an hour. He had the best time!We also saw these really funny looking inflatable cars. I just had to get a picture of one of them. After spending lots of time at E-mart we headed to Mt. Trash. I am sure it has a much prettier name, but that is what all the foreigners call it. We all it that because the hill in the park is made out of trash. The park is beautiful, a very creative thing to do for a trash dump.
Logan, loving to play football, was so excited to find a bit of grass and be able to play football with Preston for a while! There was a beautiful flower display at the entrance to the park to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the People's Republic of China.
