All five members of the Hite family had a wonderful weekend.
Logan got to go to Huntsville for his cousin Evan's 5th birthday party. He was so excited to be able to go and had the best time. On Sunday afternoon Logan went with my sister to her house in Enterprise. He will be staying there until Tuesday afternoon. He was so excited he could not wait to get in the car and go with her.
Nathan is improving. His swelling is going down tremendously. Yesterday around noon he was taken off his jet ventilator. He will be seeing the orthopedic surgeon about his hand today. He will also be getting some test in the future to look at his intestines and decide if and when he needs surgery.
Owen started feeds yesterday at 3:00 p.m. He gets 1cc of food every 3 hours placed in his feeding tube. He is looking good and still very feisty.
Preston and I are so encouraged and excited to see the progress our boys are making. We were able to watch Owen's first feeding yesterday afternoon. It is so nice to see Nathan feeling so much better. The short time Logan was with us this weekend we enjoyed playing cars together. We received a package from our friends in China. Inside was 75 handmade cards from Preston's students. We spent some time looking through all the cards. We felt overwhelmed by encouragement and love. We are eagerly anticipating the time when we will be able to return. We were also able to attend Dawson's choir and orchestra Christmas concert last night. The music was beautiful and very uplifting.
Logan, Preston and I were also able to spend some fun time with my cousin Jenni and her two girls, Olivia and Elena who came down from Michigan for a visit. Logan really enjoyed playing with them on Thursday and Friday. Thursday afternoon we went to the Rec Center and Olivia and Logan had the best time running around, playing basketball and doing some arcade driving. On Friday my Mom took them to Pump It Up. All three children love to jump and have lots of energy so it was the perfect spot for them to play.

Update on Nathan and Owen
The last few days were stable for Nathan and Owen. Both still remain critical but are making good progress.
As most of you know, Nathan got an infection in his blood last Wednesday, November 25th. He has been working very hard to fight his infection and is improving. There were a few days his pulse was over 200. His pulse is now holding steady in the 130s and 140s. He also had a perforation in his intestine. A drain was put into his side which allowed his body to drain out the stuff the intestine had dumped into his body. The drain will be coming out over the next week. The upper right lobe in his lungs collapsed. He is receiving vibro-therapy and the lobe is opening back up. Because of the infection, extra fluids, etc Nathan had swollen to be about 3 or 4 times larger than he was before the infection. Now that he is fighting this infection his swelling is starting to go down a little. He has also lost a lot of blood profusion to his right arm. It looks like he will loose some of his pinky and ring finger.
We have seen God work in miraculous ways in Nathan's life. He has fought much better than the doctor's expected. His organ's did not shut down but remained strong during this entire process. It has been amazing how much joy he has brought to Preston and I. We are able to sit by him and open one of the doors on his incubator. We spend lots of time talking and singing to him. He really seems to like it because his stats (oxygen saturation and pulse) always look really good while we are spending time with him. His life is so precious and we are so blessed to be his parents.
Please pray for his continued recovery and strength.
Owen is doing well. His doctor's were starting to get concerned because his creatinine levels were starting to move up and up and were higher than they liked. This could have been a sign of a problem in his kidneys. On Tuesday his number was 1.6 and we prayed it would begin to reverse it pattern and go down to a 1.4. On Wednesday his number was a 1.3 and on Thursday it was 1.1. We praise God for turning his numbers around and for continuing to make him stronger. We are praying his number would continue to go down.
Owen is very fiesty. He is always wiggling around and trying to pull the tubes out of his mouth (every once in a while with some success), his diapers and some of the other probes on his body that read his pulse, blood pressure, etc. Owen is much more of a don't touch or talk to me guy (but can you blame him, he is still supposed to be inside for another 3 months). It brings us such joy to see the little personality God has placed in him. For a while we would just look at him from a distance. Yesterday we decided to try opening his incubator and talking to him. He seemed to start enjoying it again!!! Owen too is a great blessing and we are honored to be his parents.
We have been very blessed by the support of our friends and family all around the world. We appreciate your prayers and know it is making a difference in our boys lives. We can't wait until they are strong enough to come home from the hospital to meet all of you (probably in March). Please continue to pray for them, your prayers are working.

The other day Preston and I were reading a book and he looked at the fire truck and said "That fire truck is red. R-E-D red." Preston and I have worked out a routine that allows us to see the boys 3 times a day and also spend the majority of our day with Logan. He really likes all the time he gets with both Mommy and Daddy.

Logan's fun times
Logan has enjoyed himself on a few outings with his friend Gracie this week. I thought you would enjoy seeing the pictures. On Saturday Logan went to the zoo with Preston, Mr. Jason, Gracie and James. They had a great time. Sarah and I went out to lunch, pedicures and some Brusters!!!!

Thank you
I just wanted to take a minute and let all of you know how much we appreciate your prayers for our family. They are the best gift, with the most support you could ever give us. Please continue to pray. Nathan is doing well. He seems to be pretty stable and his heart closed up the other day. He is by no means out of the woods yet, but we know our Father has a perfect plan for him. Owen is doing well today. He has many more unstable moments than Nathan. Owen still has the opening in his heart that needs to close. Thank you for praying for us as we grieve the loss of Mia. We know our Father had great purpose for her 9 hours of life. It has been very encouraging to see how her life has already impacted many of our friends as well as the people we are in contact with at the hospital. Please continue to pray.

The Hite Children
Sorry, pictures will be coming...we have to download them from the camera. Nathan and Owen are doing well today. We have been able to hold their hand for the last two days, which is remarkable. We go in and see them about 5 times a day. They are so precious and special. Yesterday they both had head ultrasounds and both looked great. They also had heart ultrasounds and have a valve that needs to close in their hearts, which they are both getting medicine for right now. Both boys are active and try very hard to get all the wires off of them. I think they are giving their nurses a run for their money. They staff at the hospital has all been very incredible!!! We really appreciate everyone around the world lifting us up, our boys and the hospital staff as they continue to do remarkable work. We know our father placed us here for a very specific reason. Logan will be making trip #2 to the hospital this afternoon to visit with Preston and I. We are very excited to see him again. We are going to be discharged from the hospital tomorrow and while we will be making several trips up here over the next 3 1/2 months, we are looking forward to having some "normal" life with Logan. He met his brothers the other day and did a great job speaking quietly to them. We can't wait until we are all home together and the three of them are big enough to really interact together.

Logan started school on Monday. He seems to be really enjoying himself. On Friday Kristen took him to the school and he was able to meet his teacher and see his classroom. Preston's Mom got him some new Lightning McQueen shoes, which he was thrilled to wear and excited to show all his new friends at school. He also spent some time briefing both Miss Ashely and the school's director on Garage Doors.
