This morning Owen and Nathan had speech therapy with Kelli. I turned Nathan's CI processor up to preset 3 before therapy. At the end of therapy we moved Nathan up to preset 4. He has done really well on it today. I am starting to notice more awareness to sound with some more vocalizations. I am excited to see how he progresses over the next few weeks. Thanks for your prayers and keep them coming for Nathan's development in speech and hearing. We also discussed the possibility of a second implant again. The team of audiologist and speech therapists met and would like to give Nathan a few more months to see how he progresses. He is not quite up to where he was with the hearing aids, though he will far surpass once we get everything ideal with his mapping and time for him to really learn to listen. So for now we just keep working hard on teaching him to listen to sound. Preston and I are good with this decision because the last thing we want to do is rush Nathan in to surgery and want to make sure we have looked at everything possible to make the decision that is best for him.
While at therapy CiCi took Logan to Chuck-e-Cheese and McDonalds. Needless to say he had a great time and did not want her to go home. While Nathan and Owen napped Logan and I had fun making cardboard numbers, coloring pictures, making sock puppets and watching Word World.
We had a great day. All the boys are asleep in bed now and N & O are resting up for PT tomorrow morning.
